Eveil, your Montessori school
Eveil Montessori school is in Geneva's Grand-Saconnex commune, close to the International Organisations and Diplomatic Missions.
The school has its own private garden equipped for play and motor skills activities. It is ideally situated in a quiet neighbourhood, close to landscaped parks with opportunities for lovely walks. It is easily accessible by public transport and ample parking is available. The school is founded on principles of equality, solidarity between peoples, and the equal value of every human being, regardless of origin, gender, religion, language, or social background.
In a few words
Our pedagogical director, Veronica RIVILLO, created the school in 2010. Accredited by the Swiss Montessori Association, the school offers bilingual education, in English and French. This Montessori primary school is for pupils aged 3 to 6, and covers the “Plan d'Etudes Romand” (the Swiss-Romand curriculum), while employing alternative teaching methods.
Eveil Montessori combines tailored guidance with a carefully adapted environment. The prepared environment of the Montessori pedagogy encompasses practical life, sensory materials, mathematics, language, and geography.
We foster close, trusting relationships with parents through regular, individualised meetings. Our priority is to accompany your child in their evolution, building skills and knowledge, as they progress through each stage of their development.
Our school is a member of the Association Montessori (Switzerland) and fulfills the fundamental criteria for using the Montessori name in French-speaking Switzerland.
Our class
Large bay windows fill the classroom with natural light, and a spacious layout encourages the children to move freely. There is an art area, a music area, and a reading corner. The children have direct access to a private garden, equipped with a motor skills area, play equipment and a vegetable patch.
We use Montessori-certified materials and all our Montessori furniture is Gonzagareddi quality.
The anglophone teacher provides specific teaching materials in English. The classroom atmosphere is bilingual English-French, with children immersed in both languages. Children are offered a nutritious, balanced snack. The youngest children are also offered a moment of rest (siesta) at school.
Our pedagogical team
The director of the school is supported by an experienced, highly capable, AMI-trained team. The Montessori pedagogical team aims for a quality education that first and foremost promotes the child's well-being during his or her first school experience. The fundamental needs of each stage of development are nurtured.
The director puts the wealth of her many years of experience at the service of the children, through her presence in class. English and French are taught throughout the day by certified native Montessori educators.
Our workshops
Weekly music classes are integrated in the program throughout the school year. Additional rhythmic exercises and motor skills classes benefit your child’s movement and body awareness. The children discover the different stages of planting and cultivation through seasonal gardening workshops. Farm visits are planned throughout the school year.
Regular outdoor walks help to forge links with nature and the environment. Library outings are planned on a regular basis. Thematic workshops are also held throughout the school year to broaden children's horizons and develop their curiosity.
"Education cannot be effective if it does not help the child to open himself to life."
